星雲大師　辭國際佛光會總會長

國際佛光會昨天舉行世界會員代表大會，佛光山開山宗長星雲大師開示後，宣布辭去擔任廿二年的總會長職務。

今日出版的《聯合報》報導，88歲的星雲大師，65年前來台，曾因被冤枉慈航法師等人被關23天。過去佛光山土地一坪一千元，現在十幾萬也買不到，大家吃飯睡覺能安置妥當，世界佛光代表還能聚於一堂，「這是你們自己的力量打造的」。

星雲大師說，現在是民主時代，不能老讓他一個人在台上表演。不過有佛光山弟子透露，大師不只一次提出辭職，只是改選後還是當選。（葉國吏/綜合報導）
