英自然歷史博物館藍鯨標本取代恐龍

倫敦的知名自然歷史博物館，大廳展示的鎮館展品恐龍標本，多年來一直是陪伴許多孩童成長的重要記憶，2017年夏天起，恐龍將暫時告別，改由藍鯨標本接棒。

位在自然歷史博物館大廳的梁龍（Diplodocus），高26公尺，是草食性恐龍，生於1500萬年前，由356片骨頭組成的複製標本，1905年首次展出，二次世界大戰期間為躲避戰火曾被暫時移往安全處所，1979年重新組裝後在自然歷史博物館的中央大廳展出。

被暱稱Dippy的這個梁龍標本，陪伴許多孩童成長，每年超過500萬名訪客到博物館，就是要看這個體型龐大的恐龍。

自然歷史博物館館長狄克森（Michael Dixon）宣布，為了讓民眾了解一些生物瀕臨絕種的問題，決定2年後撤除梁龍標本改展出大藍鯨標本，挑戰民眾所認識的自然世界。

自然歷史博物館將展出的女性大藍鯨是於1891年在英國的港口擱淺，博物館當時以250英鎊買進，藍鯨的標本於1938年首次展出，長25.2公尺，原本在哺乳動物館展示，博物館計劃將它移到大廳展出35年。

深受大人與小孩喜愛的梁龍標本，館方計劃到英國各地巡迴展，讓更多民眾一睹它的樣貌。
